Easternwell supports Chinchilla

Chinchilla Family Support Centre Inc. has received grant funding from Easternwell, one of Australia’s leading drilling and well servicing company and subsidiary of Transfield Services, in recognition of its valued contribution to the region.

The not for profit organisation received $1,500 through the latest rounds of Easternwell’s community grants program to further strengthen its Food for Design program – a program aimed at providing fresh produce for the Chinchilla Family Support Centre Emergency Relief Program.

Chinchilla Family Support Centre Inc’s Centre Manager, Doreen Goldsmind, said “We have been part of the Chinchilla community for nearly 40 years providing a knowledge, resource and referral hub for families in the area and surrounding regions.”

“Our Food for Design initiative supports vulnerable families and individuals within the community through the supply of fresh produce and food hampers. Easternwell’s support has allowed us to purchase the tools and equipment required to expand our services to deliver support to an even wider district.”

Since the launch of the grass-roots initiative in 2011, Easternwell has provided over $9,000 to various community groups in the Chinchilla region.

Easternwell’s Chief Operating Officer, Tim Phelan, said “the grants program was designed to shine a light on the groups and associations that are making a difference in their community, but are in need of a helping hand.

“Easternwell is passionate about supporting the regions where we conduct business and our grants program is one of the ways we are creating lasting benefits for these communities.

“Over the years we have provided grant funding to more than 110 groups throughout Australia which has enabled them to grow their services to benefit the wider community.”

Applications for the Easternwell Community Grants Program are assessed twice a year and must be received before 14 September 2014. Eligible groups may apply for funding up to $2,000.
