Easternwell supports national day of action for suicide awareness

Easternwell supported R U OK? Day to remind employees that having meaningful conversations with mates and loved ones could save lives.

R U OK? Day is a national day of action dedicated to inspiring and empowering everyone to meaningfully connect with people around them and support anyone struggling with life. Taking part can be as simple as learning R U OK?’s four steps so you can have a conversation that could change a life.

Easternwell hosted a mental health seminar which was facilitated by a psychologist through the company’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Easternwell’s Wellness Coordinator, Liam Brennan said that participating in R U OK? Day was an opportunity for the company to highlight the importance of looking out for one another and knowing the signs when someone might need extra support.

“Supporting events like RUOK? Day help start conversations around mental health and provide us with the tools to keep the conversation going throughout the year.”

As a not-for-profit organisation, R U OK? provides valuable support in our community to connect and protect people from suicide.
