Easternwell grants program to support local communities

Easternwell, a subsidiary of Broadspectrum, has opened its community grants program and is encouraging groups, clubs and associations to apply for funding of up to $2,000.

Established in 2011, the program provides financial and social assistance in regions where Easternwell has key operations including the Pilbara, Roxby Downs, Surat Basin and Toowoomba.

Designed to support groups, clubs and associations that are making a difference in their community, Easternwell has delivered a helping hand to 201 organisations said Executive General Manager, Tim Phelan.

“Last year our grass-roots program provided funding for all sorts of initiatives including purchasing sporting equipment, resources for multiple educational programs, essential furniture and equipment as well as a deep chest freezer for emergency relief food supplies.”

“We’re passionate about supporting our local communities and the grants program is just one of the ways we’re creating a lasting benefit for the wider community.”

Since establishing the program, Easternwell has awarded more than $320,000 to 201 organisations in the Pilbara, Roxby Downs, Surat Basin and Toowoomba regions including Ashburton Little Athletics Centre, Karratha Community House, Roxby Downs Scout Group, Roxby Downs Golf Club, APEX Club of Chinchilla, Kogan State School, Heights Community Centre and Little Miracles Community Kindergarten.

Easternwell is encouraging people who are involved with community groups to apply, particularly if they have a genuine need for additional resources which may ensure the sustainability of either the organisation or a specific program.

Applications must be received before 30 June 2018. For more information visit www.easternwell.com.au/communitygrants.com.au
