Easternwell provides work experience for university students

Easternwell provided work experience for two university students in their final semester of their Master of Dietetic Studies at the University of Queensland.

Mentored by Easternwell’s Wellness Coordinator and Accredited Practising Dietitian, Liam Brennan, Masters Students, Taylor Walker and Jordan Langford, developed educational posters to cover a wider range of topics for the company’s ‘Live Well’ health and wellbeing program.

A requirement for their degree, Masters Students must complete professional practice placement to develop their knowledge and skills beyond a level that meets competency standards.

Of their time with Easternwell, Taylor and Jordan said, “It was interesting to learn about health and wellbeing management in a corporate environment as opposed to usual hospital, clinical or food service placements.”

“When a four-week placement with Easternwell came up, we recognised this as a unique opportunity because of the company’s geographically diverse workforce. We are thankful for the experiences we’ve encountered during our time with Easternwell.”

Taylor and Jordan will be Accredited Practicing Dietitians by mid-2018.
