Easternwell wins a new contract with BHP Billiton at Olympic Dam

Gorey & Cole Drillers has been awarded a new contract by BHP Billiton Olympic Dam Corporation Pty Ltd for the provision of surface drilling services for the Backfill Department at Olympic Dam valued at approximately $16 million over three years with two, one-year options to extend. Gorey & Cole Drillers is part of Easternwell who is a subsidiary of ASX listed Transfield Services.

The contract requires works which are essential to the successful operation of the drilling process to support the backfill operations.

Gorey & Cole Drillers has been performing the drilling operations for the Backfill Department at Olympic Dam for more than 10 years. In addition, the Gorey & Cole team marked a seven year milestone of Recordable Injury Free in August 2014.

Gorey & Cole Drillers has been drilling in South Australia and the Northern Territory since 1946, and has been engaged by the mining sector since 1990.
