Easternwell teams well equipped with training

Easternwell’s workshop team and rig crews recently got a safety training boost through Broadspectrum’s (now part of Ventia) Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

The teams participated in a Working at Heights Safely training, which was delivered via a combination of theory and practical applications on a recently built rig at the Easternwell and Broadspectrum Withcott training facility.

Additionally, the Working at Heights Rescue training was completed while running wireline into the rig mast. The upgraded rescue tools and equipment were put to the test by the rig crews as they role-played a rescue.

Through Broadspectrum’s Training Services, the company can provide nationally recognised qualifications, short course programs, specialised training, training needs analysis and recognition of prior learning to support the scope of Easternwell’s operations.

Easternwell’s General Manager for Energy Kyle Koziol said there are many benefits to having a registered training organisation within the company.

“We can deliver training programs aligned to nationally recognised qualifications from current industry endorsed training packages for onshore oil and gas drilling and oil and gas well servicing.”

“Specifically our programs are designed to provide a continuum of industry specific training for our people, allowing them to progress within the company and the broader Australian resource industry.”

Broadspectrum’s Quality Manager Jill Keen said the changes to training environments due to COVID-19 have accelerated the development of industry accredited e-learning packages within the company.

“These online programs are supported by face-to-face performance evidence assessments either at training facilities or on-site in the field.  We work with our clients to ensure that any face-to-face training and assessment is conducted within required COVID-19 restrictions.”

Easternwell is a subsidiary of Broadspectrum (now part of Ventia), providing innovative solutions across the social, defence, property, infrastructure, resources and industrial sectors.
