Easternwell completes mud tanks for new rigs

Easternwell’s engineering and workshop teams have completed the build of three mud tanks for the company’s new ALRx rigs.

The mud tanks were designed by the company’s engineers and built by the workshop team as part of a five-year contract to provide 11 well servicing rigs and associated services to Shell’s QGC business Surat Basin operations.

Easternwell’s ALRx rigs are the latest in well servicing technology with integrated push-pull capability and a 50-tonne top-drive for increased rotary torque. Through smart modular design, the ALRx will expedite natural gas well service work scopes.

Easternwell General Manager, Kyle Koziol said: “The mud pumps and tanks are an important part of the rig’s overall design, providing increased mobility and mixing capabilities to support the rig’s operations. The tanks and trailers also have additional features including internal baffles and electronic stability control improving safety during rig moves.”

“Our highly experienced team of engineers and trades support our innovative rig design from right here in Toowoomba and it is great to see the mud pumps and tanks ready to operate for our new rigs.”

Easternwell is a subsidiary of Broadspectrum, providing innovation solutions across the social, defence, property, infrastructure, resources and industrial sectors.
