Easternwell grants program to support local communities

Easternwell, a subsidiary of Broadspectrum, has opened its community grants program and is encouraging groups, clubs and associations to apply for funding of up to $2,000.

Established in 2011, the program provides financial and social assistance in regions where Easternwell has key operations including the Pilbara, Roxby Downs, Surat Basin and Toowoomba.

Designed to support groups, clubs and associations that are making a difference in their community, Easternwell has delivered a helping hand to 224 organisations said Chief Executive for Resources, Tim Phelan.

“Last year our grass-roots program provided funding for all sorts of initiatives including purchasing sporting equipment, building supplies, resources for multiple educational programs, essential furniture, tools as well as specialist medical equipment for a hearing outreach program.”

“We strive to build regional strength by supporting social activities in the communities where we work, and our grants program is just one of the ways we’re creating lasting benefits for community organisations that need it most.”

Since establishing the program, Easternwell has awarded more than $360,000 to 224 organisations in the Pilbara, Roxby Downs, Surat Basin and Toowoomba regions including Earbus Foundation of Western Australia, Karratha Softball Association, Roxby Downs Community Board, Andamooka Progress & Opal Miners Association, St George Community Men’s Shed, South West Indigenous Networks, Chinchilla Community Centre, Toowoomba Choral Society and Sunrise Way Rehabilitation.

Easternwell is encouraging people who are involved with community groups to apply for funding to assist with genuine need projects to support the sustainability of community services.

Applications must be received before 30 June 2019. For more information visit www.easternwell.com.au/communitygrants.com.au
