Easternwell secures drilling contract with Senex Energy

Easternwell has signed a one-year contract with a one-year extension option to provide drilling and completion services for Senex’s Surat Basin natural gas developments.

The contract involves the drilling of a range of technical wells with Easternwell’s Rig 27 which is a versatile, medium-sized rig suitable for both drilling and completion operations.

Easternwell General Manager Kyle Koziol said the contract with Senex continues to support the company’s involvement in local Queensland communities.

“As two locally-based Queensland companies, we recognise the importance of supporting local communities and optimising the flow-on economic benefits from our operations to local businesses.”

“This includes continuing to boost our local employment figures and increasing our spend with local business in the region.”

“This drilling program will give us the opportunity to collaborate with Senex to deliver very efficient, safe and cost-effective wells as part of this important project for the local and broader Queensland economy.”

The contract has a one-year extension option.

Easternwell is a subsidiary of Broadspectrum, providing innovative solutions across the social, defence, property, infrastructure, resources and industrial sectors.

Senex is developing Roma North, about 30km north of Roma, and Project Atlas, a dedicated domestic gas tenure about 20km south-west of Wandoan. These developments involve the construction of a combined 110 wells initially, two gas processing plants and associated pipelines.
