Easternwell Marine Geotechnical is the leading near shore geotechnical drilling contractor in the Australian market. Since 1978, Easternwell Marine Geotechnical (formerly Sides Drilling Contractors) has been at the forefront of this industry providing services to energy, resources and government departments on nearly every large near shore infrastructure project in Australia.
Easternwell is the largest operator of modulated Jack-Up barges in Australia, being able to bring a unique service offering to near shore projects. The fleet includes four Jack-up Barges (Sideson 1, 2, 3 and the C-53 SEP (Sideson 4) which is on long-term charter.
To complete contracts for geotechnical investigations, it is common to utilise one of four diamond drilling rigs. All rigs have been customised to withstand the rigour of operating in a marine environment and are capable of drilling down to 200m using PQ drill strings which are the common offshore geotechnical sampling tools. Further more, down hole CPT equipment can be married to the drilling rigs for further geotechnical studies.
