In 2004, Eastern Well Service embarked on a mission to bring new technologies to the Australian Oil and Gas Industry. EWS formed a second company in collaboration with Canada's 'SNUBCO INTERNATIONAL' and EASTERN PRESSURE CONTROL was formed. This venture bought about an Australian landmark first with the introduction of the first Rig Assist Snubbing Unit. (RASU).
RIG ASSIST SNUBBING UNIT (RASU)
The Rig Assist Snubbing Unit (RASU), allows pipe and other production equipment to be stripped in and out of an oil or gas well without stopping the well from flowing. Snubbing is a method for inserting tools and tubulars into wells under pressure without having to kill the well with fluids. Oil and gas well servicing depends on time, mobility, precision and efficiency.

RIG ASSIST SNUBBING UNIT (RASU) CURRENT OPERATIONS
During its inaugural year the snubbing unit has completed multiple jobs ranging in surface pressures from 100 (700 Kpa) to 3000 Psi (21,000 Kpa). The company recorded zero incidents, zero recordable medical aids and no lost time incidents.
EPC is presently contracting the RASU and a specialist trained crew to Santos in the Cooper Basin, South Australia.
RASU is unique in that it is able to complete oil and gas well servicing without stopping well flow or using dangerous kill fluids and chemicals.
