Purchasing Officer

Currently an exceptional opportunity exists for a motivated and enthusiastic Purchasing Officer to make their mark in the dynamic oil and gas industry. Responsibilities of the position would include but not be limited to the following:

Monitor suppliers and coordination of the company inventory ensuring the accurate quantities of stocks are purchased and delivered

Monitor and regulate the authorisation process of Material Expenditure Requisition’s (MERs)
-
Enter and process procurement/purchasing data requirements in Sage
-
Reconcile delivered stock against original processes order
-
Participate in the developing, piloting, testing and implementing of procurement tools
-
Visit warehouse on a weekly basis to facilitate interaction in order to provide improved customer service
-
Assist the Supply Chain Manager in the selecting of reliable sources of supply
-
Participate in after hour calls as roster
The following experience / qualifications will be highly regarded:

Adequate experience in a similar purchasing or inventory management
-
Demonstrated ability to be proficient in procurement practices and principles
-
Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize
-
Analytical and process skills for effective task execution
-
Intermediate level of Microsoft Office skills
The successful applicant will provide a high level of service and support, have excellent communication skills and a positive team attitude. In addition the applicant must be adaptable to change and display a willingness to work diligently and unsupervised. Remuneration will be negotiated commensurate with skills and experience.
