Easternwell Group is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Night Pusher to join our award winning team. Easternwell Group is Australia’s leading integrated Oilfield services company offering flexible, innovative and cost effective solutions to large oil and gas exploration companies and the wider energy industry. Easternwell Group provides latest technology rigs to offer contractors services to the Australian oil and gas, coal seam methane, geothermal and carbon sequestration industries.
This role is a field based opportunity. Applicants must be eligible to work permanently in Australia.
Reporting to the Rig Manager, the position will be responsible for managing and oversee rig operations and liaise between site operations and client representatives.

Key tasks of the position are:

Ensure that rig floor work is scheduled and carried out to company, client and legislative requirements.

Report to Rig Manager and/or management all incidents relating to HSE.

Support the Human Resource Department with staffing issues as related to field operations.

To participate in and assist with the training and development of rig staff to company and industry requirements.

Provide leadership and training to drillers ensuring that duties are performed satisfactorily.

Prepare documents for the acquisition of equipment, parts, logistical requirements and issues related to rig activities in the field.

Maintain and record the consumption of parts and equipment during tour, update inventory accordingly and make recommendations to the replacement or ordering of parts.

Ensure that tour reports are submitted on a daily basis.

Communicate to client representatives on issues relating to well site activities and functions in the absence of Rig Manager.

Provide accurate and efficient administrative services utilizing various software packages including word processing, spread sheeting, rig control software, and outlook for emailing.

Comply with all company and client policy and procedures including adherence to all HSE requirements and ensure that these are enforced and implemented appropriately.
Required skills, experience and knowledge:
-
Certificate of Diploma in Drilling (Onshore Oil and Gas) or the willingness to undertake this program as part of ongoing skills development processes

Qualification in Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management) or equivalent knowledge and experience

Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or the willingness to undertake this program as part of ongoing skills development processes

Experience in working as rig manager/driller

High level mechanical ability with proven experience in operating drilling plant and equipment

Interest in working outdoors in remote locations

Good physical condition, strength, and emotional stamina
-
Proven ability to perform mathematical concepts and formulas, lifting criteria and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations of the work environment and complete well control calculations

Proven ability to complete tasks as required by management on a daily operational basis
-
Proven ability to lead teams, direct instructions and manage a rig and its resources and deliver practical outcomes

Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret equipment manuals, instructions, and procedures related to the rig and its mechanical operations
-
Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to respond to internal and external client’s at all levels of operations including management, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders of the onshore oil and gas industry

Strong understanding of quality assurance, workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity, and anti-discrimination practices as applied to the workplace

Current C class drivers license (HR license a preference).
